This is not overproduced 'pop country' schlock, this is heartfelt songwriting with pleasing diversity and great production.
Hank Quillen: Press
A poet's soul lurks in the shadows of the mostly country-flavored tunes on this disc. Lyrically, Hank Quillen is reminiscent of singer/songwriters like Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, exploring such poetic devices as symbolism and metaphor; Quillen's unaffected vocals add to the integrity and honesty of the music, providing more bang for the buck than most of the mainstream country fodder we're being force-fed these days.
Lars Werlen - Shake Magazine (Jun 29, 2006)
Hank's guitar ranges from sweet melancholy to rockin' it down. The songs are well crafted and hold their own with the cover of Johnny Cash's "Hey Porter"

Excellent CD! Great songs, very good playing and singing. Fabulous production.
This is a great album in my humble opinion. Ry Cooder, Guthrie and Donovan influences, but is really something of magic!
